Bagua is an internal martial art born out of tai chi and is based on circular and spiraling movements. The theory behind Bagua is to overcome an opponent with skill rather than using brute force by continuously changing in response to the situation. It concentrates heavily on footwork and perpetual motion which makes it ideal for handling multiple opponents.
Practicing Bagua will teach you how control your momentum and timing in order to generate power with the entire body as one whole unit. By coordinating each body part to work together with every other part, you can generate the maximum power available for your size and weight. This whole body power is applied to all Bagua techniques, striking, kicking, grappling and throwing.
Once again the principles are the same: root, structure and sensitivity. Weapons forms: sword, saber and deer horn knives.
